Building-integrated solar (BIPV) provides a 2-in-1 solution: it serves as both the outer layer of the house and generates electricity for on-site use or export to the grid. BIPV provides savings in electricity costs and reduces pollution. In addition to a green way of thinking, resource-efficient construction practices and a reasonable payback period, the installation of building-integrated solar panels has other positive aspects.

Producing solar energy and maximising self-consumption protects you from possible larger fluctuations in electricity prices for decades. Also, in the real estate market, energy-efficient buildings with building-integrated solar panels are significantly more attractive to buyers.

Technology

Solar panel innovation mostly lies in efficiency improvement. Not much attention has been paid to the suitability of the panels for households. Solarstone is changing the paradigm of traditional PV technology – we turn solar panels into an aesthetically pleasing building material.

Crystalline silicon are used to generate solar power from sunlight. Solar cells are covered with 3.2 mm low-iron matt/prismatic glass with an anti-reflective surface. Solarstone panels use only monocrystalline photovoltaic cells to reduce the production loss of integrated systems, as monocrystalline photovoltaic cells have better temperature sensitivity than polycrystalline photovoltaic cells.

The back on the solar panel is protected by a backsheet which is made of strong plastic. All of these layers are bonded by ethyl vinyl acetate (EVA) and a lamination process. In the last step, aluminum frames of the required shape and size are added to give the final product the necessary weather resistance and strength properties.

The frames are made of high-quality and durable anodized 6000 series aluminum which are produced on the basis of drawings protected by our utility model.

In addition to generating electricity, Solarstone solar panels also function as permanent roofing material. To confirm this, we have performed strength tests and tests, which have been successfully passed.
